Avalon Open Weekend 2009
The Avalon Guns Open Weekend held on Saturday and Sunday 20th & 21st June at Ivythorn Farm, nr Street in Somerset was a great success. Apart from an extremely short shower on Saturday morning the weather held out and helped to make this year one of the best Avalon Guns Open Weekends to date.
Stands featuring Beretta, Benelli and Browning exhibited the latest offerings from the industries most popular brands. As usual the Avalon Guns tent housed a wide range of new and second hand shotguns with the ability to 'Try before you buy'. This was of course a great advantage to those who turned up intent on purchasing a new Shotgun. With many happy customers going home certain they've bought the right gun.
The Clay Shooting Spectacular run by Steve Lovatt of the Clay Shooting Company (www.clayshootingcompany.com) proved to be very popular with over 400 entries. The 60 bird open sporting re-entry clay shoot was won on Saturday and Sunday by Richard King who shot 59/60 both days.
Visitors of all ages who didn't want to partake in competitions could wander down to the 'Have a Go' stands where they received help and instruction from members of the Clay shooting company. Also on hand for the weekend was Carl Bloxham, World Champion in English Sporting and Bronze and Silver Medallist in World Fitasc. Carl offered his expertise to everyone from beginners to the more experienced shooter.
Avalon Guns would like to thank everyone who made the weekend possible and to all those who made the journey to see us. We look forward to seeing you again in 2010.
