Meet Joe Hemmings

Meet Joe Hemmings

My names Joe Hemmings, im a 24 year old self employed Carpenter from Bristol.

Growing up at a young age I spent a lot of time around guns with my father, going to our home clay shoot on our farm, Stockwood Vale Gun Club. Dad is also a keen game shooter and since 7 or 8 years of age I have been attending. I love going and still do throughout the winter. Also attending the neighbouring syndicate beating and working our spaniels under the eye of James Box.

I got the bug for clay shooting after speaking to James and my late friend Pete Dennett. At first I intended on shooting a few clays to try and improve my game shooting but shooting with Pete regularly for 12 months I soon found myself progressing through the classes on the CPSA sporting shoots and now I'm hooked!

I now shoot in AA. Also AA for sportrap and A class for fitasc.

Ive had a few small achievements to date. Last year I came 2nd in A class at the Clay shooting Classic at Southdown. Ive also just recently won our county sportrap championship at Meadowcroft. I've also won the odd high gun here and there. I was pleased to win high gun at the Avalon Guns Open Weekend at Mendip Shooting Ground.

My goal for the future is to progress to the best of my ability!
